“Stay in your flats”

‘Stay in your flats’ is a socio-political personal project produced whilst studying at Leeds Beckett University. The installation is a reinterpretation of the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

Spectators experience an abstract and immersive environment as they ‘witness’ the event. Animations are mapped onto a four-dimensional projection in the centre of the room as a symbolic representation of the building. The geometric projections intensify and highlight the non-fireproof cladding as the events unfold.

Whilst the spectators are placed within a dark room they gaze forward to the projection. This, in turn, facilitates a space of reflection and remembrance. Three different viewpoints of the event are told as focusing on the three main survivors’ accounts.
