Arlington House
‘Conversations’ was inspired by a series of informal exchanges which came from creative conversations, stories and partnerships. The show displayed a collection of audiovisual responses, such as installation, music, poetry and art. The event was a celebration of the many stories and the vibrant creativity that thrives inside Arlington.
I was briefed by One Housing to lead a collaborative project with RCA Visual Communication students and Arlington House residents. Arlington House is a historically famous hostel based in Camden Town, North London.
A collaboration between Arlington House resident Shadi and I also emerged. The work is an experimental audiovisual piece inspired by a photographic exploration of movement and shared conversations. The work is a result of stop-frame animation techniques to bring Shadi’s work alive.
The project was a lengthy research process to facilitate and manage Arlington residents and Visual communication students. The brief was to celebrate the skills within the hostel and generated new creative collaborations between the self-taught and the traditionally trained artists.
